aaron What are your fondest memories of Copenhagen?

My fondest memories of Copenhagen would have to be my first flight ever and seeing how proud that country is of it’s heritage and also meeting the other teams.

What was something you learned about the world, or in fact yourself, at the Homeless World Cup?

I learned that other people in the world have a lot harder lives to live compared to us in Australia. Our poverty line is a government payment, where others have nothing at all.

What did you find your biggest challenge about the Homeless World Cup?

I found that being away from my family was my biggest challenge of all, and meeting all the players from all over the world and most likely never seeing them again.

What has happened in your life since Copenhagen?

Good things.Since leaving Copenhagen, I have gained employment with the Body Shop in Melbourne over Christmas and I have got my life back on track.

What are some of your goals in the short term or even in the long term?

My short term goal is to gain an apprenticeship as a motor mechanic, and my long term goal is to get into permanent accommodation.

What are some of the challenges ahead for you in the future?

My biggest challenge is going to be quitting smoking; which I would like to do before Homeless World Cup in 2008, and trying to track down my family overseas.

What message do you have for the Homeless World Cup family?

I would like to wish everyone involved with the Homeless World Cup a safe and merry Christmas and a sober as possible new year and I can’t wait to see you all in Melbourne 2008!
