We would like to welcome our new State Coordinator for the Street Soccer program in Victoria, Jarrod Gunn.
Jarrod a father of two and a keen follower of the Gunners soccer team in the Premier league first started at the Big Issue ten weeks ago. From then Jarrod has landed quite comfortably into this role and is progressively establishing the nine street soccer programs across the state. The Ballarat and Bendigo programs are just a couple that Jarrod has helped get off the ground and running.
Jarrod says he feels privileged to be coordinating the street soccer program in Victoria and opening up opportunities for people from all over to play and participate.
“I am particularly determined to ensure there is representation from Indigenous Australians in the street soccer program”, Jarrod said.
“I have come primarily to this role because I really believe in the difference that street soccer makes,” Jarrod said.
Jarrod has a background within the community health and community field. He has completed a Bachelor of Health promotion, a Masters in Public Health and has come to The Big Issue from a recent position as a program Manager in community health. Outside of the work, Jarrod coaches his son Jonah’s U9’s soccer team and I can imagine will be staying up late at nights with the recent birth of his son, Kai.
Good luck Jarrod and we will see you on the field!
