BHP Billiton takes the Corporate Cup

bhpBHP Billiton has been a big supporter of the community Street Soccer Program and the Melbourne 2008 Homeless World Cup. On the morning of the National Championships at the Docklands last week they shed their winter coats, got their legs moving and joined with teams from Melbourne Cares, City of Melbourne, The Big Issue, Macquarie and Thoughtworks for the Corporate Cup.

Following nine action-packed matches, BHP Billion and Macquarie meet in the final where BHP Billion got up 6-4 to take the cup.

It was a great opportunity for our corporate friends to declare their involvement and support for the program, as well as meet some of the players and gain a better understanding of what the Community Street Soccer Program is all about. All the players took up Street Soccer energetically and there was a strong sense of community.

Well done team BHP Billiton and many thanks to all our sponsors and supporters!

See the partners, sponsors and supporters of the Melbourne 2008 Homeless World Cup.
