Triple R Homelessness documentary
Posted Aug 4th, 2008 • Category: Big Issue News • By Anna O'BrienMelbourne community radio station 3RRR FM has been working on a documentary to give voice to people experiencing homelessness in Melbourne.
Set to coincide with National Homeless Persons Week, the one hour special will be broadcast on Thursday August 7 from 7-8pm and features a wide range of stories from people getting by without a permanent place to live.
A small team of volunteer broadcasters spoke with people from a range of backgrounds about their different experiences of homelessness and the result is a firsthand and personal account of the realities of life either on the streets or on the constant move.
Many housing service providers assisted with arranging participants for the documentary - including the Big Issue, and a few Big Issue vendors will star in the final piece, which will be set to an original soundtrack by David Bridie and Phil Wales.
Tune into 102.7fm on Thursday August 7 from 7-8pm or stream it from wherever you are on Triple R website. The special will also be available for download from the Triple R website from August 8.
