The Big Issue Brisbane would like to thank their sponsors and all those who attended their first “Big Picture” film night which raised just over $1000.00. Big Issue supporters and vendors kicked off a great evening with a champagne reception before watching the 2008 dramatic film adaptation of Brideshead Revisited. All guests on the night received a free copy Filmink movie magazine which was kindly donated by the publisher.
The Brisbane office plans to build on the success of this event by holding their next film night at the Palace Centro Cinema, Fortitude Valley in February 2009. The big issue would like to thank Filmink for their donation. All funds raised on the nightwill go to services and programs that support the homeless and disadvantaged in Queensland.

My name is Maria Tran, producer and action fight choreographer for feature film “Maximum Choppage: Round 2” and JTV/ ABC Kung Fu TV series “Downtown Rumble” http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/tv/comedy/downtownrumble.htm. I’m looking at travelling to Brisbane from the 17th -23rd of January, 09 for a series of film screenings and was wondering if there are any opportunities for cross-promotion.
