Roving Eye sees the world’s best photojournalists capture some of 2008’s defining moments, reminders of a turbulent year that otherwise might be forgotten. Images are part of the 52nd annual World Press Photo competition. Text is by Michael Green.

Also in this issue:

In ‘Tough Going’, Priscilla director Stephan Elliott speaks to Rochelle Siemienowicz about his hiatus from filmmaking, his near-death experience on the ski slopes, and his comeback film, Easy Virtue.

In ‘Still Seeking Justice’, Karla Grant revisits Cameron Doomadgee’s death on Palm Island in 2004, and examines the legal process that is still taking place.

Our ‘Vendor Profile’ for this edition is David I from Sydney. We have ‘Streetsheet’ contributions from Boof from Perth, who says love and care helped him overcome depression, Jacqui H from Brisbane, Jason N from Perth, David S from Adelaide and Aaron A from Melbourne. Also, check out the photos of The Big Issue vendors and supporters marching (or riding!) in the Adelaide Fringe Festival opening parade, taken by former vendor David Norman.
