Alan Attwood catches up with Sam Neill to talk about his role in Dean Spanley, the many film stars he’s worked with over the years, why he is dreading retirement and even his thoughts on the current financial crisis.

Also in this issue:

In ‘Arnie & Me’, Nick Carbonari recounts his journey from boy next door to bodybuilder, in a quest to achieve Schwarzenegger-like perfection; in ‘Home on the Ridge’, Lucy Di Paolo journeys to the outback NSW town of Lightning Ridge, to explore the life her mother lived there so many years ago, meet the characters who live there now and capture the magic of this opal-mining town; and in ‘Roving Eye’ photographer Anna Zhu’s series on her grandfather raises questions about relationships, the ageing process and how images can mask reality.

Our ‘Vendor Profile’ for this edition is John from Perth. We also have ‘Streetsheet’ contributions from Teresa from Melbourne, Jason B from South Australia, Pat O from Brisbane, Mitchell from Sydney and CWB who is currently in a Victorian prison, and says writing poetry has helped him pass the time and develop a better understanding of who he is.
