Fiction Edition Launch – Fed Square Book Market
Posted Jul 8th, 2009 • Category: Big Issue News • By DanielleFiction lovers will be treated to a sitting with author, Walkley award winner and Editor of The Big Issue, Alan Attwood, this Saturday 11 July when he holds an intimate Q&A session at the Fed Square Book Market to coincide with the release of the magazine’s annual Fiction Edition.
This special edition of The Big Issue, co-edited by Melissa Cranenburgh and Jo Case, will once again feature a mix of established and emerging writers including Cate Kennedy (one of Australia’s leading short story writers), Debra Adelaide (author of the bestseller The Household Guide to Dying, long-listed for the Orange Prize in the UK) and Alice Pung (author of the memoir Unpolished Gem). It will also give readers a sneak peek into Andy Griffiths’ and Terry Denton’s follow-up to the controversial The Bad Book, in the form of a cheeky graphic short story.
What: Join in lively discussions with The Big Issue editorial team about their favourite fiction books and authors and purchase a copy of The Big Issue’s Annual Fiction Edition.
When: Saturday 11 July, 1-1.30pm
Where: Fed Square Book Market, Federation Square Melbourne
