Make a Bequest

Making a will is an important part of planning for the future. After you have provided for your loved ones, you might consider including The Big Issue as a beneficiary.

By leaving a bequest to The Big Issue in your will, you can leave a lasting legacy that will help us help some of the most vulnerable people in our community to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Whatever the size or your bequest, it is a simple way to make the contribution of a lifetime.

If you have already made a will, consider asking your solicitor to add a codicil, which will incorporate your gift to The Big Issue. You may find the following words helpful, but please consult your solicitor before including them in your will.

“I give to The Big Issue of 148 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria, for its general purposes, the sum of $X/X% of the residue of my estate/specified items [personal possessions, a life insurance policy etc] free of all debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, duties and taxes (however described). I declare that the receipt of The Big Issue shall be a complete discharge to my executors for this gift.”
