Event Volunteer
The Melbourne Homeless World Cup 1 – 7 December 2008
The Homeless Word Cup is coming to Melbourne and we will welcome teams from over 50 nations worldwide. Players will come together in the spirit of sport and community to represent their countries, entertain the crowds and demonstrate the power of sport as a means of social inclusion.
You can support the Homeless World Cup by volunteering your time and skills. You will form part of a team working to promote opportunities for people who are currently homeless and excluded, while gaining a unique and valuable personal experience.

What is the time commitment for volunteers?
Most volunteer roles will be shift-based during the competition period (30 November–7 December.) A normal volunteer day will be eight hours, including breaks, and will be a morning or afternoon shift. There are also opportunities to volunteer in our office during the lead-up to the event. Shifts are flexible within normal business hours.
Do I have to be a certain age to volunteer?
Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age on 30 November 2008.
Do I need any special skills to be a volunteer?
We only require that volunteers are enthusiastic and dedicated. We will have some roles that require specific skills such as languages other than English, event management and medical qualifications. If you have any skills you feel may be useful, be sure to let us know on your registration form.
